Can I move around Davy Crockett Ranch without a car?

While it is possible to move around Davy Crockett Ranch without a car, it can be quite difficult, especially for guests with mobility needs. The resort is spread across a large forested area, and there is no internal shuttle service. A car is strongly recommended to comfortably reach key facilities like reception, the pool, the shop, and the restaurant.

Resort Layout and Distance

Davy Crockett Ranch is a cabin-style, self-catering resort located around 15 minutes by car from Disneyland Paris. The cabins are spaced throughout woodland surroundings, and many are quite far from the central hub. Depending on your location, it can take 5 to 20 minutes to walk to the main facilities.

Footpaths exist in some areas, but they are not fully paved or continuous across the resort. In many places, you may have to walk along the roadside or across uneven ground.

Accessibility Considerations

For guests using wheelchairs, scooters, or walking aids, navigating without a car can be challenging. Some areas have gravel or soft earth paths, which can be difficult in poor weather. The natural layout of the resort is beautiful but not designed for seamless accessibility without a vehicle.

Accessible cabins are usually placed closer to the central buildings, but the distance can still be significant. A car provides a much more convenient way to reach amenities quickly and safely.

No Shuttle or Resort Transport

There is no shuttle service within Davy Crockett Ranch. Unlike Disney’s on-site hotels, guests staying here must use their own vehicle to travel both around the resort and to the Disneyland parks.

Staying Without a Car

If you are staying at the resort without a car, here are some important tips:

  • Choose a cabin as close as possible to the main facilities. Contact Guest Services in advance to make this request
  • Consider bringing or renting a mobility scooter or walking aid to make distances easier to manage
  • Be prepared for long walks, and bring weather-appropriate gear such as rain jackets or umbrellas
  • A flashlight or headlamp is useful for walking in the evening, as some paths may be dimly lit
  • Arrange private transport to and from the Disney parks, as public transport is not available from the ranch

Summary

While you can walk around Davy Crockett Ranch, doing so without a car can be inconvenient and tiring. The resort is large, natural, and lacks internal transportation. A car is the best option for ensuring easy access to all facilities, especially for guests with reduced mobility or young children.
