- Ride Type: Outdoor spinning rocket ride with guest-controlled elevation
- Height Restriction: None
- Ride Duration: Around 2 minutes
- Suitable For: Guests who enjoy a gentle spinning motion and panoramic park views
Accessibility Overview
SEN Suitability
Orbitron allows guests to board rocket-shaped vehicles that rotate around a central structure, rising and falling at the rider’s control.
- Noise Level: Low, with soft space-themed background music and ambient ride sounds
- Visual Effects: Open-air visuals with continuous spinning; elevated views over Discoveryland
- Movement: Moderate spinning combined with smooth vertical motion; no sudden jolts or drops
- SEN Tips: The ride’s predictability and lack of intense audio/visual effects make it suitable for many neurodiverse guests, but those sensitive to motion or dizziness may prefer to skip it
Mobility Suitability
- Wheelchair Use: Guests must transfer from the wheelchair into the rocket seat
- Boarding:
- Small step up into the enclosed vehicle with low seating and a narrow opening
- Space inside rockets may be restrictive for larger guests or those with limited leg mobility
- Cast Members are available to assist during transfers
- Storage: Wheelchairs and mobility aids are stored at the boarding area and returned after the ride
Priority & Easy Access Card Information
Guests with a Priority Card or Easy Access Card can use the separate accessible queue to reduce waiting times.
How to Access It:
- Guests with an Access/Priority card can enter via the ride’s exit.
- Follow the step-free path leading to the platform
- Present your Priority or Easy Access Card to the Cast Member for boarding assistance
Queue Conditions:
- Entirely outdoors with some shaded areas
- Smooth, mostly flat surface up to the boarding point
- Ambient space-themed sounds playing in the background
Ride Experience
Guests sit in a two-person rocket that spins slowly around the central axis while riders control their vertical movement using a joystick inside the vehicle.
Expect:
- Expansive views of Discoveryland and Sleeping Beauty Castle
- Gentle wind effects from the open-air ride
- Predictable motion, with spinning speed fixed and elevation controlled by the rider
Practical Tips
- Best Time to Ride: Early morning or late evening when queues are shorter and the sun is lower (for better comfort and visibility)
- Closest Accessible Toilets: Inside the Videopolis building and near Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast
- Quiet Rest Areas: Benches along Discoveryland’s pathways and in the nearby gardens
- Bag & Medical Equipment Storage: Small bags may be kept in the rocket; larger items should remain with a non-rider or at the platform
Fun Facts
- Design Inspiration: Based on Leonardo da Vinci’s futuristic designs, with a Jules Verne aesthetic unique to Disneyland Paris
- Ride Control: Elevation is rider-controlled, adding an interactive element to the experience
