Disneyland Paris Ride Closures 2026–2027: Accessibility Guide
Check confirmed Disneyland Paris ride refurbishments in 2026–2027, including Crush's Coaster and Indiana Jones, with wheelchair, SEN and alternative ride
Planning a Disneyland Paris holiday around one favourite attraction? A major refurbishment can change the trip before you even arrive. That matters especially when you use a wheelchair, need predictable routines or have chosen particular rides because their boarding or sensory features work for your family.
As of 2 November 2026 , two substantial closures are confirmed. Crush's Coaster is closed until summer 2027 , while Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril is scheduled to close from 4 January 2027 for several months. Disney has not provided a guaranteed reopening date for either attraction.
This guide separates confirmed long-term work from shorter, changeable maintenance closures. It also explains how to check your dates, avoid unsuitable replacement rides and plan alternatives around mobility, transfer, sensory and access-card needs.

Which Disneyland Paris rides have major confirmed closures?
These are the two substantial refurbishments Disney has publicly announced for the period covered by this guide. Unlike short-term maintenance, they affect holiday planning across multiple months.
Attraction Park Confirmed closure Reopening position
Crush's Coaster Disney Adventure World, Worlds of Pixar From 7 September 2026 Summer 2027; no confirmed exact date
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril Disneyland Park, Adventureland From 4 January 2027 After several months; no confirmed exact date
Disneyland Paris's date-specific park calendar and refurbishment guidance remain the best places to check shorter closures for your visit. The park app is useful for the latest status during your trip.
Why there are no day-by-day promises here Disney can change attraction availability or carry out unplanned maintenance. A calendar viewed months ahead does not guarantee that every attraction listed as available will operate throughout your visit.
Crush's Coaster: closed from September 2026 until summer 2027
Crush's Coaster in Worlds of Pixar closed on 7 September 2026 for what Disneyland Paris calls its most extensive technical refurbishment since the attraction opened in 2007.
The project is expected to last around ten months. Disney says its teams are replacing certain control systems, sensors, communications equipment and selected sections of track. They are also cleaning, repainting and repairing themed scenery, followed by extensive technical testing.
The official announcement says the ride is expected back in summer 2027 . That is a season, not a guaranteed opening day. Different unofficial websites may publish specific June or July dates, but these should not replace an official confirmation.
If you're visiting now or in early 2027
Plan as though Crush's Coaster will not be available. Its normal standby, Single Rider and Disney Premier Access arrangements cannot be used while it is closed.
If you're visiting in summer 2027
Check for a firm reopening announcement before organising your visit around this ride. Technical testing or final works can affect the intended return period.
Before closure, Crush's Coaster was a spinning indoor roller coaster with a 1.07-metre minimum height . Its published accessibility conditions included required walking ability and the ability to manage stairs, with guide and assistance dogs not accepted. Those details help explain why it was not the right ride for every guest even when open.
Disney has not announced that the refurbishment will create a wheelchair-accessible ride vehicle or remove the previous mobility restrictions . It would be premature to promise improved ride access on reopening.
Have a Finding Nemo backup experience If someone is disappointed about missing Crush's Coaster, consider exploring the rest of Worlds of Pixar and choosing a different experience together. The theming and characters can still be part of the day, but no other ride provides an identical spinning-coaster experience.
Crush's Coaster is closed in Worlds of Pixar, but Disney Adventure World has other areas to explore. This photograph shows Adventure Way, not the closed coaster.
Indiana Jones: the major refurbishment begins in January 2027
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril at Disneyland Park is scheduled to close from 4 January 2027 for several months. Disney announced the work on 26 October 2026, describing it as the ride's most extensive refurbishment since opening in 1993.
Its stone temple will receive extensive restoration, including rebuilding some stonework. Disney also plans maintenance of the track-support structures, rails and footbridges, the rebuilding of the wooden queue walkways, restoration of themed details and updates to surrounding lighting and the Adventure Outpost shop.
No exact reopening date has been announced. The published description does not establish whether the finished queue will have different wheelchair access, gradients or transfer arrangements. Rebuilding the walkways should not be presented as a confirmed accessibility upgrade.
Before the closure, this was an intense looping roller coaster with a 1.40-metre minimum height . Wheelchair users were required to transfer into the ride vehicle. It is not an appropriate alternative for guests who cannot meet those boarding and safety requirements, regardless of access-card entitlement.
If you're visiting during early 2027 Don't build an Adventureland itinerary around riding Indiana Jones. Choose another attraction or show as the priority and check the official programme for any effects on nearby access and pathways during the work.
If the attraction is a must-do for someone in your group, consider whether postponing that part of the visit is more realistic than repeatedly checking speculative reopening dates.
Why short-term closures need a different approach
Alongside long refurbishments, individual rides can close for days or weeks for routine maintenance or be unavailable unexpectedly during a park day. Some dates appear on calendars only when you get closer to travel.
Rather than publishing a long list of temporary closures that quickly becomes wrong, use the official schedule to check your exact date. This matters particularly for Fantasyland dark rides, Disneyland Railroad stations, theatres and other experiences that may affect accessible travel routes .
How to check a closure properly
Open Disney's official park-hours and attraction-availability calendar.
Choose your exact visit date and the correct park.
Check both attractions and any shows or character experiences you particularly want.
Read the individual attraction page if an accessibility feature is essential.
Recheck shortly before travelling and again in the Disneyland Paris app on the day.
Ask a Cast Member about alternatives if an attraction unexpectedly closes.
A refurbishment closure is generally temporary. It is not the same thing as an attraction being permanently removed or an announcement of a replacement ride.
What to do instead of Crush's Coaster in Disney Adventure World
Crush's Coaster is a spinning thrill ride, so no single replacement will match its movement, story and intensity. But there are useful options in the same park, especially for families who value Pixar stories or prefer fewer physical demands.
Ratatouille: The Adventure
A five-minute immersive dark ride in Worlds of Pixar, with no minimum height restriction. Disney's Accessibility Map identifies wheelchair-accessible arrangements. It includes screen-based movement and dark scenes, so visitors prone to motion sickness should check whether it suits them.
Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure
In Avengers Campus, with no height restriction. Disney labels this attraction wheelchair accessible and lists audio description and acceptance of guide and assistance dogs. The interactive action may not suit everyone who experiences motion or sensory difficulties.
Cars ROAD TRIP
A family sightseeing-style attraction in Worlds of Pixar with no height restriction and wheelchair access listed by Disney. It can include loud effects, staged flames and water, so it is not automatically a calmer option for sensory-sensitive visitors.
World of Frozen and Adventure Way
Explore Arendelle, watch the outdoor celebrations or consider Raiponce Tangled Spin. Both Frozen Ever After and Raiponce Tangled Spin have specific wheelchair-transfer requirements, so check these before treating them as alternatives.
These suggestions are options to consider, not a promise they will be open on a specific date . They also aren't interchangeable in terms of safety, motion, accessibility or sensory intensity.
Raiponce Tangled Spin offers a different kind of family ride. Wheelchair users must transfer; a transfer board is available on request.
Alternatives while Indiana Jones is closed
The Indiana Jones coaster is one of Disneyland Park's more intense rides. If somebody in your group enjoys speed and drops, they may be interested in other thrill rides. But the practical access conditions differ and must be reviewed individually.
Big Thunder Mountain
A mine-train roller coaster in Frontierland with a 1.02-metre minimum height . Wheelchair users must transfer into the vehicle. It offers a different experience and does not have the same ride layout as Indiana Jones.
Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain
A fast indoor coaster in Discoveryland, with a 1.20-metre minimum height . Check the current physical and transfer restrictions carefully; indoor darkness and intense movement can be significant considerations.
Adventureland without the coaster
Explore areas such as Le Passage Enchanté d'Aladdin and the surrounding themed landscape. These are not direct thrills replacements; select according to the group's preferences and the actual route accessibility.
A show or character encounter
If a major thrill ride is not suitable or available, a theatre show or character meeting may be more rewarding. Check the relevant timetable, reservation requirements and sensory information.
Don't substitute one coaster for another solely because it has a shorter queue. A ride with a different minimum height, restraint shape or evacuation route may be unsuitable even when the original attraction was manageable.
Disneyland Park has many experiences beyond its coasters. Plan around the attractions and shows that suit your group rather than trying to replace every closed ride.
Wheelchair users: check the actual boarding, not just the queue
The most useful question when choosing an alternative attraction isn't simply “is it accessible?” Disney differentiates between wheelchair-accessible vehicles, ride vehicles requiring a transfer and attractions where a visitor needs the ability to walk or use stairs.
Some rides have a transfer board available on request. Others can involve a significant height difference, a timed transfer or an evacuation that requires physical assistance. A Priority Card does not remove any of these requirements.
Before choosing a replacement attraction
Can I remain in my wheelchair, or must I move into a separate ride seat?
What is the height difference and shape of the transfer?
Is a transfer board available and suitable for my particular needs?
Could the boarding position, restraint or evacuation route make the ride unsuitable?
Will my companion be permitted to help, and what can Cast Members do?
Is the route from the entrance to the dedicated boarding point practical?
For example, Frozen Ever After involves a wheelchair transfer, with a transfer board available on request and a significant height difference between the platform and the boat. Raiponce Tangled Spin also
